Selection of our Ingredients
- Located in an agricultural region and attached to our terroir, we favor local producers. Flour, the central ingredient in our shortcrust pastry, comes from a flour mill located just a few dozen kilometers from our workshop. Our milk is also sourced as close as possible, by direct delivery from the dairy.
- We emphasize a natural approach, using natural, authentic ingredients: wholemeal flour, superior VPF ham, free-range eggs, palm-free butter and margarine. With quality in mind, we can also offer PGI and PDO ingredients. For example, cheeses such as Parmesan, Comté, Fourme d'Ambert and Swiss Gruyère. This enables us to create recipes with a distinctive character.
- To meet the variety and complexity of our many recipes, we have selected over 400 different ingredients. For example, we can use green curry from Thailand but also PDO-labelled Espelette chilli pepper for original seasonings.
- Among our other commitments, we purchase a large proportion of our ingredients and packaging from a GIE (economic interest group). This is a real asset, enabling us to control costs, secure our supplies over the long term, and react quickly when looking for new ingredients.
Our qualityapproach
- Our commitment is to respect a global and continuous quality approach. This applies to all levels of the organization, with particular emphasis on ensuring traceability of supplies and production.
-
This rigour is reflected in several certifications on food safety standards each year since 2008 of our manufacturing site:
the IFS certification for which we have been certified at the highest level and BRC certification for which we have obtained an excellent AA rating. We also offer certified organic products and can manufacture Kosher products. - We have chosen deep-freezing as the natural, optimal way to preserve food quality, in line with our commitments. Frozen immediately after manufacture, products retain their taste and nutritional qualities (proteins, minerals, vitamins) for months. As part of our natural approach, which involves careful selection of our ingredients, we obtain healthier finished products. Finally, with respect for theenvironment, we have put in place an action plan to reduce our energy consumption.
A family business
- Our Breton SME is marked by a family spirit, nurtured by the Group's agricultural values. With a staff of 61, we are committed to local management. This is marked by listening and mutual support within the teams, which in turn contributes to customer satisfaction.
- Our average length of service of 10 years is proof of the loyalty of our teams. This loyalty is fostered by multi-skilling, internal mobility and skills development. Furthermore, our gender equality index is 85/100 for the year 2023.
Our environmental approach
- Our environmental approach involves all levels of the organization making environmental commitments in line with the recommendations of the ISO 26 000 standard.
- As part of our Clean Food approach, Geldelis is increasingly offering products containing no or very few additives, as well as 100% natural flavors.
- For many years now, we have been using an eco-pasture system on our site, with 5 sheep providing ecological maintenance of the natural areas.
- We recover the natural heat emitted by the plant's machines and reuse it to naturally heat washing and sanitary water, as well as to heat certain parts of the plant.
